It won’t go down as the sequel to the Global Financial Crisis but 2023 will have at least one ominous historical footnote: three of the largest bank failures in U.S. history occurred this year. Meanwhile, the outlook for bank stocks isn’t encouraging. For example, last month S&P Global Ratings downgraded credit ratings on five regional banks, which have been a disaster this year for investors. Are the Bank Bears Lickin’ Their Chops?
